Power of Stories Celebration at Snape Maltings, Sat 18 Feb

Saturday 18 February | 5:00pm

Duration: 80 minutes, no interval

Venue: Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Snape Maltings, Snape, Suffolk, IP17 1SP

Price: £10, seating unreserved

Come and celebrate the incredible impact of the award-winning Power of Stories exhibition over the last couple of years – not just here at Snape Maltings, but across Suffolk and beyond.

Power of Stories features costumes from Marvel Studios' Black Panther alongside specially curated content from Black Suffolk residents and museum collections.

On this final weekend of the exhibition here at Snape, we present a celebration of the power of music and storytelling. Sefo Kanuteh (kora, balafon, voice) – a key figure in the UK’s Mande music scene – presents a compelling solo set, while Anna Mudeka and the African Choir of Norfolk bring their energetic celebration of women of African heritage living locally.

The event will also feature prominent figures who have driven the exhibition and the movement it has inspired. An unmissable celebration, in partnership with community interest company Aspire Black Suffolk, of what has been achieved and reflection on what there is still to do,

The exhibition (free) will be open as usual all day on Saturday, with Sunday being its final day.

In partnership with Aspire Black Suffolk and Suffolk County Council.
